Economics conference “Quo vadis, economy? Can law assist?” May 09, 2009

The firm’s economics conference, “Quo vadis, economy? Can law assist?” was held on Friday, 8 May at the Dorpat Conference Centre in Tartu, Estonia. The objective of the conference was to discuss important economic issues as well as the role of law in today’s economic crisis.
Additionally the  topics of education and media were discussed. The conference brought together important decision makers amongst both the speakers and the audience. The speakers at the conference were Prime Minister, Andrus Ansip; Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Märt Rask; Governor of Eesti Pank (Governor of the Bank of Estonia), Andres Lipstok; Minister of Justice, Rein Lang; Rector of the University of Tartu, Alar Karis; Auditor General, Mihkel Oviir; Attorney General, Norman Aas; Professor of International Business of the University of Tartu, Urmas Varblane; Chairman of the Board of Eesti Meedia, Mart Kadastik; and attorney, Paul Varul. The conference was opened by its  moderator, partner Paul Varul.
