Partner Dr. Andrius Smaliukas moderates an electricity conference May 12, 2010

Partner Dr. Andrius Smaliukas moderated the “Free Electricity Market: results and prospects” conference held on 11 May 2010 in Vilnius, Lithuania. The conference was organized by Lithuanian electricity market operator BALTPOOL UAB who gave experts and participants of the electricity market the chance to evaluate the performance of the company for the first time.  Participants shared their insights about the results of the Lithuanian exchange market operator and discussed future prospects of the activity of the organization. Participants included the vice-minister of Energy, Mr. Romas Švedas, SEB Bank’s president’s advisor, Mr. Gitanas Nausėda, CEO of Lietuvos Energija AB, Mr. Aloyzas Koryzna, CEO of BALTPOOL UAB, Ms. Lina Skrabutėnaitė and many others.
BALTPOOL UAB is a Lithuania electricity market operator whose main function is organising wholesale electricity trade at the Lithuanian power exchange since 1 January 2010 in cooperation with Nord Pool Spot –power exchange operator in the Nordic countries. BALTPOOL UAB was established in order to foster the development of the common Baltic electricity market that is integrated with the Nordic market and furthermore – with the Central and Eastern European electricity markets.
