Varul Vilgerts Smaliukas holds insolvency seminars for Nordea Bank, Danske Bank and Kredex Jun 17, 2010
The firm's insolvency, corporate and tax law practitioners Paul Varul, Ants Mailend, Helmut Pikmets, Leonid Tolstov, Tarmo Peterson, Martin Tamme, Kristina Laarmaa, Ramon Rask and Peeter Viirsalu held a series of seminars on recent developments in financial and insolvency law to the in-house legal teams of Nordea Bank, Danske Bank and Estonian Credit and Export Guarantee Fund Kredex.
The seminars gave an overview of recent amendments to the Bankruptcy Act
and Reorganisation Act as well as discussing the details of insolvency
for private individuals, the role of the bailsman in a bankruptcy
proceeding, the protection of creditors' interests during takeovers and
also in criminal proceedings, relevant problems in enforcement procedure
and tax issues concerning the reorganisation of business.
