Janis has represented If P&C Insurance AS insurance company in several litigations as well as IVECO companies, SIA Merks, AS Merko Ehitus, SIA Fracht and others in litigations concering advanced legal issues. Also Janis has advised clients on complex liability matters indicating risks and possible liability of the parties involved and reviewed and advised clients on standard contract terms to avoid any liability for non compliance with mandatory law of Latvia.

Janis specializes in litigations and dispute resolution and advising clients on terms of agreements, providing legal opinions on complex matters of law and advising clients on wide range of private law questions.

Janis has extended knowledge in tort law and liability issues and therefore can assist clients with anything from debt collection to complex recourse claims against liable parties and his professional interests are: tort law and liability issues, insurance law, contractual law and liability, commercial law issues and other private law matters.

Janis has won a national level moot court competition in civil law and several scientific project competitions on private law issues. Janis has been awarded the Kristaps Morbergs scholarship and Nippon foundation Ryoichi Sasakawa new leader’s scholarship.
