Shipping & Transport
Maritime law in the Baltic States generally boils down to disputes regarding bills of lading, cargo claims, ship arrests, multimodal transport disputes and the like. The firm’s lawyers have acted on behalf of various European ship owners’ interest groups, insurance companies, and have assisted the leading international shipping law firms with domestic civil procedural matters. At all times, finding practical and efficient solutions remains the highest priority when dealing with issues of shipping law and we are dedicated to defending our clients’ interests both at the Baltic ports as well as in the local judicial system.
The Baltic ports ensure a steady flow of containers from West to East and vice versa. That inevitably leads to CMR, COTIF and SMGS disputes with carriers, insurers or cargo owners. Our lawyers are well aware of the peculiarities of all transport types and the influence of EU regulations in the transport sector.
A well-established network of contacts allows our firm to deal efficiently with multi-jurisdictional issues in most of the key jurisdictions involved in international trade.
